You can find Mr. Kemal, one of the former tradesmen of Kadıköy Çarşı, whose numbers have decreased considerably today, in the early hours of the morning, who has already opened his workplace and is in a hurry to prepare for a new day.
Mr. Kemal, originally from Elazig, came to Kadıköy Historical Bazaar in 1960 and started selling tangerines and lemons in the marketplace. Afterwards, he continues this work in the Greek Church Square. He opened his first shop in 1979 in the Fish Market in Kadıköy Historical Bazaar. From this date on, he gained a customer base in the sale of live and cooked fish, and this time he expanded his business by opening a shop on Güneşli Bahçe Sokak and finally his current location, Anchovy Pub. In the face of increasing demand, he opens another shop on the same subject opposite his current shop.
By starting to sell the first cooked fish in Kadıköy Historical Bazaar, he was the person who brought Beyoğlu Nevizade’s tavern culture, menu and appetizers to Kadıköy Çarşı.
